Edward Buchanan Blackwell, Jr is a Global Director for Telco, Media, & Entertainment at Snowflake Inc. Prior to this role, Edward spent 13 years at VMware in various roles from technical to business interfacing with VMware’s largest global customers. As a Principal Systems Engineer, he served a dual role in the Office of the CTO and co-architected VMware’s 1st cloud-based lab environment. In 2013, Edward earned VMware’s prestigious System Engineer of the Year award. In 2017, Eddie transitioned to a Global Account Director role at VMware, then left for Snowflake in 2020.

Edward graduated from the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Mathematics with minors in Computer Science & Business Administration; he earned his MSLC from St. Edward’s University and MBA from the University of Southern California. Eddie is a proud life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., an Ironman Triathlete (World Championships, 2006), enjoys traveling (Mt. Kilimanjaro), and was awarded Young Alumni of the Year by the University of Texas' Black Alumni Network in 2014. In addition to being a life and board member of the Texas-Exes, Edward is also a board member of Lifeworks, a non-profit centered on ending youth homelessness. In 2021, Edward established an endowed scholarship at the University of Texas' College of Natural Sciences to benefit exceptional students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Lastly, Edward is a proud husband and father to his wife (Esther) and 2 children (Angelina & Edward, III).
