Dr. Franklyn Alexander was born in Breckenridge, Texas in 1950. He received his B.A. with a major in Microbiology at the University of Texas at Austin in 1973 and graduated with a DDS from Baylor Dental School in 1976. He has received numerous awards in his professional career; he was selected as Top Dentists in America by Consumers Research Council, Super Dentist by “Texas Monthly” magazine, Top Dentists in Tarrant County, is a Fellow of Academy of Dentistry International and a Fellow of Academy of General Dentistry.

Alexander is a past Board member of the Arlington Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and current member of the Development Board of the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a Past Chairman of the Executive Committee of the UT System’s Chancellor’s Council. He and his wife, Jane, have established undergraduate scholarships at UT Arlington, and UT Austin. They also established graduate fellowships at UT Austin and UT Arlington. They have a conference room named in their honor at College Park Center at UT Arlington. They have established two fellowships at the UT System level also.

He is a practicing dentist in Arlington and the official dentist of the Texas Ranger baseball team. He is the current Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation. He is married to Jane Alexander.
