Dr. Paul K. Minifee MD, FAAP, FACS, has nearly 30 years of expertise in the clinical practice of pediatric surgery at Texas Children's Hospital. He is a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Minifee is accomplished in open and videoscopic surgery of the abdomen and chest and has extensive experience in the treatment of childhood skin disorders.

 

Dr. Minifee is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association and American College of Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Minifee is also residency trained in pediatrics and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.”

 

Dr. Minifee is a Texan who graduated Salutatorian from Hempstead High in 1974. He is a 1977 Graduate of the Forty Acres with a B.A. with Honors in Chemistry and recognition as a 1977 University Outstanding Student. Dr Minifee is the first African American Pediatric Surgeon trained in Texas, and the first African American Pediatric Surgeon in Houston, Texas. He and his high school sweetheart, Pamela, are proud parents of three Longhorn sons, Paul Andre, Chris, and Michael. Their only daughter, Kristin, is a Wellesley graduate.
