Born in Eagle Lake, Texas, Warren Parker received a bachelor’s degree with honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 1964. He earned his M.D. from the Baylor College of Medicine in 1968 and completed a surgery internship in 1969. Warren was a Captain in the United States Army as a flight surgeon stationed in Korea.  He was the commanding officer of his medical unit. Following his service, he completed a residency in neurological surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine.

He practiced Neurosurgery  at The Methodist Hospital for forty years, and was on the faculity of Baylor College of Medicine and the Methodist Hospital Neurological Institue. He had daily neurosurgery resident teaching reponsibilities.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He also served on the Executive Committee of the Methodist Hospital.   He is currently on the Neurosurgery Review Panel of the Texas Medical Board.

A member of many civic and social organizations, Parker maintains a strong interest in University affairs. He serves on the executive committee of the Chancellor’s Council. Ashbel Smith Society, and is active in the Texas Longhorn Educational Foundation.
