Alice is fascinated by the molecular effects of strong selection acting on organisms, particularly plants. After completing a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution where she studied the selective forces acting on disease resistance genes in Arabidopsisthaliana, she joined Tom Juenger’s lab in January 2016 to study the population genetics and the molecular effects of abiotic stress responses in Panicumhallii, an emerging model system which is a close relative of the biofuel crop, switchgrass.
