Sandra Boles
Lab Technician
Sandy is the lab manager and jill-of-all-trades. She heads up much of the microsatellite and CAPs genotyping, marker development, sequencing, and project management for both Arabidopsis and Ipomopsis projects. She also trains the majority of undergraduate and graduate students in the lab. Sandy received her master's degree in marine science in 1994, and has been employed as a lab technician ever since. She's worked on projects involving oyster diseases, the genetics of bacterial virulence, billfish population genetics, plant disease resistance, and the molecular systematics of bryophytes. The Juenger Lab sees her return to the world of Arabidopsis and her first foray into the fields of quantitative genetics and bioinformatics.
