I am broadly interested to study ecological and evolutionary drivers for adaptive evolution in natural population. Currently, I am working on Panicum hallii as a model system to determine the role of soil salinity as a potential selective agent for the divergence between inland and coastal population of this grass. I am using various quantitate genetic and population genomic approaches to determine genetic variants for salinity response and possible selection signatures for local adaptation. In addition to that, I'm studying gene expression plasticity to understand the relative contribution of cis/trans regulation for local adaptation.
