Roughly 40% of violent offenders admit to being intoxicated during the time of the crime. However, there is little understood about what genes and neurons regulate these behaviors. Our lab has recently found that flies increase their aggressive behavior after alcohol intoxication. We are interested in dissecting the neural and genetic mechanisms that regulates alcohol induced aggression in flies.
