IMPORTANT UPDATE: CITEC has rescheduled the second Town Hall for Tuesday, July 25 (previously scheduled for July 21). The streaming link has been updated for the second meeting to be http://citec.financials.utexas.edu/resources/stream2
Since May, the Central IT Executive Commission (CITEC) has been working to identify potential immediate savings opportunities in UT's Information Technology Services (ITS) offerings and recommend which IT services will be maintained, modified or eliminated. CITEC has a preliminary set of recommendations that will be presented in the future to the University leadership. To get additional input and feedback in the decision-making process, as well as raise awareness, CITEC is now holding a series of Town Hall meetings.
Everyone is invited to engage with CITEC at these meetings. They are an opportunity to provide input and feedback, as well as to ask questions related to the commission’s recommendations before they are submitted to leadership. As the proposed changes affect just about everyone in the University, you are encouraged to attend.
CITEC hosted its first Town Hall on July 12th. Items discussed include Service Now, Service Management, Data Center, UT-Virtual, SharePoint, UT Web, Austin Disk, UT Backup, Mainframe Print, and more.
CITEC will host a second Town Hall on July 21st, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM in Burdine Hall 106. You’re encouraged to come and engage with CITEC members in an open, collaborative setting. Items to be tentatively discussed: SailPoint, Building Access Control System (BACS), Residential Networks, Cabling and Construction, Voice, Multi-Media, Router Rental, Private Networks, Personal Network Access (PNA). The commission will also be revisiting UT Web.
If you cannot attend the Town Hall meetings, but would like to provide feedback, please visit https://citec.financials.utexas.edu/share to submit your feedback to CITEC for consideration, or view the streaming of the Town Hall on the CITEC web site at http://citec.financials.utexas.edu/resources/stream1.
