How to Get and Use a Personal Digital Certificate

Digital certificates are commonly used for signing email messages, electronically signing documents, and encrypting e-mails. UT provides digital certificates free of charge to UT faculty and staff members via the web page at  https://certificates.security.utexas.edu/.

Comprehensive documentation about these digital certificates can be found on the UT wiki at https://wikis.utexas.edu/display/digitalcertificates/Digital+Certificates

In this documentation, you should perhaps pay special attention to the sections 'How to Request a Digital Certificate'; and within it, the 'Importing Digital Certificate' section pertaining to your device or browser. Because of differences between versions of operating systems and browsers, importing certs on your device may differ from the published instructions.

If you need help setting up and using your personal digital certificates, please contact the CNS Help Desk at https://cns.utexas.edu/help/ (UT EID login required).
