UTBox -- An Introduction

UTBox is a free cloud storage and file sharing service available to UT Austin faculty staff and students for business and academic purposes.  UTBox features:

  • Unlimited storage and file sharing for approved group accounts (e.g., departments, research groups, etc)
  • 2 TB (terrabyte) storage and file sharing account for Faculty and Staff
  • 150 GB (gigabyte) storage and file sharing account for students
  • Certified for storing some kinds of Confidential Data (formerly called Category I data)
  • Built-in collaboration tools
  • Securely share files across campus or across institutions
  • Easily access and share your files via the web
  • Easily sync important files between your Windows or Mac desktops, laptops, and your iOS, Android and Blackberry smartphones and table devices
  • Native apps for iOS, Android and Blackberry devices
  • Versioning of documents (up to 100 versions of a file, as long as the account has available storage quota)

  • An accessible version of the web site is available for those with disabilities
