Annual Membership Gift

In accordance with the Board of Visitors Bylaws, the membership of the Board of Visitors shall consist of persons especially interested in the accomplishment of the objectives and goals of McDonald Observatory and the Department of Astronomy. Members have been nominated and elected by the Board of Visitors. The Board of Visitors' Membership year begins September 1st.

 

Annual Membership Gift

Current members of the Board of Visitors may pay their dues by clicking their membership level below. 

Leadership Member ($10,000) 

Leadership Members of the Board of Visitors shall serve terms of three years, beginning September 1 of the year in which they are elected or reelected. 

Sustaining Member ($5,000) 

Sustaining Members of the Board of Visitors shall serve terms of three years, beginning September 1 of the year in which they are elected or reelected.

Full Member ($2,000) 

Members of the Board of Visitors shall serve terms of three years, beginning September 1 of the year in which they are elected or reelected.

Associate Member ($750)

Associate Members of the Board of Visitors shall serve terms of two years, beginning September 1 of the year in which they are elected or reelected. Associate Members are encouraged to become Members within two terms on the Board of Visitors. 

 

Current Board of Visitors Members are expected to attend meetings and to actively support the programs of McDonald Observatory and the Department of Astronomy through their engagement, their advocacy, and, where appropriate, their financial contributions. When attending meetings, Members (excluding Public Official Members) are also expected to pay for themselves and their guests those meeting expenses assessed by the Board of Visitors Executive Committee. Elections are held at either the Winter or Summer Board of Visitors meeting.
