The quality of our close relationships has a powerful influence on our mental and physical health. So how can we keep our relationships with loved ones strong and fulfilling over time? To address this question, we have conducted extensive research on how couples' relationships develop and change over time. As examining dynamics of change in couples' relationships requires longitindal, labor intensive research that utilizes multiple methods, these studies typically involve collecting a mix of self-report, daily survey, observational, and physiological data from couples at multiple points over the course of several weeks or years. Interested in participating in a study? Beginning in late summer/fall 2024, we will be conducting a new longitudinal study of couples' experiences as their children move out of the family home.
