Marine Science Education Center & Wetlands Education Center Trail System

The Marine Science Education Center (MSEC) on the campus of UT Marine Science Institute offers a window into the research and wildlife found within the Mission-Aransas Estuary as well as the surrounding coastal and Gulf of Mexico ecosystems. Engage with the Estuary Explorium's interactive and interpretive graphics, view the living displays of the aquarium or do a little shopping in the gift shop. 

Stroll on over to the nearby Wetland Education Center (WEC) Trail System, which includes the Dunescape trails and the Waterwise and Native Plant Garden trails, to view diverse coastal and estuary habitats and wildlife. 

Public tours are available for FREE every Tuesday and Thursday. Tours begin at 9am and last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please meet your guide at the front station in the WEC (855 E. Cotter Ave, Port Aransas Texas, 78373).

Bay Education Center (BEC)

Visit the Bay Education Center in Rockport, Texas to learn about the Mission-Aransas Estuary Reserve and its unique ecosystems, wildlife and conservation and research programs. Explore the hands-on exhibits or join a Science On A Sphere program.
