Winning hearts and minds through education

The Mission-Aransas Reserve Education Program strives to enhance public understanding of the value and function of estuaries and to encourage protection of the coastal environment.

Educators

Share the wonders of an estuary with your students and trade your classroom for an outdoor laboratory. Explore marine ecology at the Bay Education Center, study marine life aboard the R/V Katy, or choose from our other K-12 Programs. When your class is unable to make it to us, check out our additional Teacher Resources that will help bring the Reserve to your classroom.

We are pleased to offer homeschool programs for students. Please contact Nicole Pringle at npringle@austin.utexas.edu or call 361-749-3153 for more information or to book a program. Please note a minimum of 10 students is required for the program to make.

Community Education

Visit on your own, or participate in one of several Reserve led activities. Take a guided tour of the Wetlands Education Center, visit the Bay Education Center, go exploring with the Road Scholars, or join us for one of the many community events hosted at the Mission-Aransas Reserve.
