New Parents!

What Do We Do?

Researchers at the University of Texas are conducting a research study of parenthood. We are looking for women who are in their third trimester of pregnancy who are willing to participate in the study with the other parent of their baby – you don’t need to currently be in a relationship with them.

Participants can receive up to $250 per person ($500 per couple).

What Will You Do?

You will complete a 2.5 hour session while you are pregnant where you will:

• Answer questions about yourself
• Do some activities on a computer
• Discuss your thoughts about parenting with the other parent of your baby, while being videotaped

After your child is born you will receive a short survey each month until your child turns 1 year old with a few questions about how things are going.

Where?

A 2.5 hour session will take place at People’s Community Clinic Women’s Health Center or another location of your choice: The University, at your home, .

Follow-up surveys can be completed from home on your phone or computer.

Are You Eligible?

• You must be 18 years or older
• You must be in the third trimester of pregnancy
• You must be willing to participate with the other parent of your baby
• You must not be planning to put your baby up for adoption
• You must not be currently enrolled in the Tandem Teen Prenatal & Parenting Program

¿Qué Hacemos?

Investigadores de la Universidad de Texas están conduciendo un estudio de investigación acerca de ser padres. Estamos buscando mujeres en el tercer trimestre de embarazo que estén dispuestas a participar en el estudio con el otro padre de su bebé – no es necesario que mantengan actualmente una relación.

Participantes pueden recibir hasta $250 por persona ($500 cada pareja).

¿Qué va hacer?

Debe de completar una sesión de 2.5 horas mientras está embarazada, y donde usted:

• Contestará preguntas acerca de sí misma
• Hará algunas actividades en una computadora
• Conversar con el otro padre de su bebé acerca de sus ideas de cómo ser padres, mientras son grabados en video.

Después de que su niño nazca, hará una encuesta cada mes hasta que su bebé cumpla 1 año con preguntas acerca de cómo le está yendo siendo madre.

¿Dónde?

Debe asistir a una sesión de 2.5 horas que tendrá lugar en People’s Community Clinic Women’s Health Center u otra ubicación de su selección.

Las encuestas de seguimiento pueden ser completadas en su teléfono o en computadora.

¿Eres Elegible?

• Debe tener 18 años o más
• Debe estar en su tercer trimestre de embarazo
• Debe estar dispuesta a participar con el otro padre de su bebé
• Debe no estar planeando poner a su bebé en adopción
• No debe de participar actualmente en el “Tandem Teen Prenatal & Parenting Program”
