I was recently in Colombia and had the honor to be hosted by the owners of el Hacienda El Triumfo, a working ranch and field research site. I was accompanied by Andres Montes Rojas, a student visiting the Keitt Lab from Universidad de los Andes this fall, and his advisor, Andres Link Ospina. They have been collaborating on a field camera campaign in the region. It is a spectacular site with a full gradient from dry forest to moist forest within the same 7000 hectares. We were able to see many of the habitats by horseback and search for night monkeys, one of the main study species. I highly recommend you check it out. They are seeking to build the research base and establish an active and long-term portfolio of research activity.
