The first annual UT Austin Mass Spectrometry Imaging Short Course and workshop was held October 3-7, 2022.  We had a total of 26 attendees from all over the United States, and even one from across the pond!  We had two full days of lectures covering sample preparation, data collection, and data analysis, as well as application topics including plant imaging, working in a BSL3 imaging lab, integration with pathology, ion mobility, tie in with proteomics, pharmaceuticals, surgical applications, and ultraviolet photodissociation, plus many others.  A huge thank you to all of the presenters; Chris Anderton, Theodore Alexandrov, Alyson Black, Jenny Brodbelt, Maria Person, Jacob Porter, Sydney Povilaitis, Alison Scott, and Kristina Schwamborn. The other days, smaller groups came to the lab to see and do the entire imaging process.  Throughout the week, there was lots of lively discussion and a great opportunity to meet and interact with new people in the imaging community.

In addition, we had 5 generous vendor Sponsors; Bruker, Shimadzu, HTX Imaging, MassTech, and Thermo, who supported the event with food and giveaways and were onsite to interact with attendees, helping to make it a great success.
