miRNAs are short RNAs that can regulate expression of genes. miRNAs are induced with alcohol but how they regulate certain genes and alcohol behaviors are unknown. We are currently investigating how miRNAs are involved with regulating alcohol behaviors such as tolerance and preference for alcohol. We are also interested in understanding the networks of miRNAs that become induced with alcohol and whether or not they are conserved between species.
