Welcome Statement

Phantom of opera

The Zhang Lab is dedicated to unraveling the fascinating realm of post-translational modifications and its effects on eukaryotic transcription. We focus on phosphorylation utilizing cutting-edge approaches that merge structural biology, biophysics, and Nextgen sequencing. Our aim is to shed light on the complexities of kinases, phosphatases, and transcription factors involving in diseases like glioblastoma and neurodegenerative diseases. Moreover, we believe that through our structural understanding, we can make a real impact by designing small molecules or proteins that can modulate enzymatic activities. Join us in this meaningful quest for knowledge.
